Emergency Call Out
Horizon received an emergency request over the Christmas period, following the recent extreme weather conditions which had caused wind damage to the cladding on a hangar at an active RAF station in the UK.
Due to the nature of the works required, a quick response was paramount. Within 24 hours Horizon had actioned the works, and arranged for a team of specialist steeplejack operatives to attend site, and undertake the installation of safety netting using MEWP access. This was installed to prevent the risk of FOD (Foreign Object Debris) occurring, which had the potential to cause a disastrous and costly incident.
The netted mesh installed was secured to the existing external cladding using a combination of fixings and stainless wire along the length to encapsulate the FOD material. Our client contacted our regional operations and safety director on a job well done, and praised our engineers for their timely and professional manner following the completion of the job.
