ATLAS Celebrates 70 Successful Years!
SEVENTY years of successful business will be celebrated by The Association of Technical Lightning and Access Specialists (ATLAS) in 2016.
ATLAS was formed in response to new building laws and controls which were introduced in the post-war era. They have been representing the leading players in the Lightning Protection and Steeplejack industry since their inception in 1946, remaining at the forefront of all industry developments and the improvement of working practice. Horizon have been a member of ATLAS since October 2003, with our Managing Director James Burns being the former president of the association.
To mark its 70th anniversary, ATLAS will be undertaking a number of major projects during 2016. This will include the ATLAS awards which will showcase the high quality and scale of work of Specialist Contractors within the sector, and will provide the opportunity for members to network.
James Burns, the Managing Director of Horizon, said: "We are extremely proud to be a part of ATLAS. It is the recognised trade association for our industry and has a strict criteria for membership covering everything from health and safety and insurances to technical standards & training. Membership has been particularly beneficial to us as our clients can be assured in the fact they are using a competent and reputable specialist contractor. With the support of ATLAS, and The Steeplejack and Lightning Protection Training Group (SLPTG), this has enabled Horizon to train all of our engineers to industry standard, which enables us to provide the highest quality service to our clients".
